Product & Tracking Disclaimer
What a LOCAFI tracker can do, and what it cannot. Worth two minutes before you buy.

Locations are estimates, not a live feed
When you open the LOCAFI App you see the most recent location the tracker has reported. It is an estimate, and how close it lands depends on where the device is at the time. A tracker deep inside a building, in a basement car park, or wrapped in metal reports less accurately, less often, or not at all until it moves somewhere with a clearer view.
Nothing on this site should be read as a promise of continuous, second-by-second tracking, or of a location being available at any particular moment.
About the 168-hour history
168 hours is the maximum length of history the app can show you. It is not a promise that there will be a location point for every hour of those 168. The trail is built from the points the tracker managed to report, so a device that spent two days somewhere with nothing around it will show a gap for those two days.
Detecting the surroundings is not joining a network
The tracker works out roughly where it is by sensing the Wi‑Fi environment around it. It does not log in to anyone's Wi‑Fi, it does not need a password, and it does not read anything travelling over those networks. Nothing it senses gives it access to a network, or to anyone's data.
Not a security or emergency service
LOCAFI is a consumer tracker. It is not a vehicle immobiliser, an alarm, a recovery service, or a substitute for insurance. It cannot stop a theft, and buying one is not a guarantee that a lost or stolen item will be found. If something is stolen, contact the police — do not go to a location on your own.
A tracker is also not a way to supervise a child or a vulnerable adult. It tells you where a bag or an insole has been, not whether a person is safe.
Where you put it matters
The placement ideas shown on our product page are ideas, not fitting instructions. Choose somewhere dry and secure, away from heat, moving parts, airbags and other safety equipment. Do not drill, cut or modify a vehicle to fit one. If you are not sure a spot is safe, ask us before you use it.
Battery figures
Battery life is given as “up to” because it depends on how often the tracker reports and the conditions it is in. Heavy use, cold, and a device that is constantly moving through new surroundings will all shorten it.
